The St. Joseph's Health Amphitheater at Lakeview won't allow fans to bring lawn chairs to some concerts this summer.

ASM Global, which manages the St. Joe's Amp in Syracuse, said its new lawn chair policy won't allow outside lawn chairs for any concerts with more than 14,000 tickets sold. (Capacity is 17,500, so this largely applies to sellouts or near-sellouts.) For fans who don't want to stand, a limited number of lawn chair rentals will be available for advance purchase online or at the venue on the day of the event, while supplies last.

"For the safety, comfort and experience of all fans, the Venue reserves the right to not permit outside lawn chairs from being brought into the venue. A limited number of lawn chair rentals will be available for advance purchase online or at the venue on the day of the event, while supplies last," the policy states.

The policy began in 2022 for the sold-out Morgan Wallen concert, which drew about 18,000 fans -- slightly above capacity at the Amp. It was the biggest crowd at the venue since Florida Georgia Line in 2019.

ASM Global said four 2023 concerts have sold more than 14,000 tickets so far this year, triggering the policy. That means fans will not be allowed to bring outside lawn chairs to the following shows:

Other concerts may also prohibit outside lawn chairs if more than 14,000 tickets are sold for those shows. Fans can check asmsyracuse.com/events before their concert date by clicking on "more" next to the event/performer name, then clicking on "Lawn Chair Policy" under "Important Details."

The St. Joseph's Health Amphitheater at Lakeview website also lists additional policies fans should be aware of, including a clear bag policy, parking details and a reminder that the venue is cashless.
